Volunteer Opportunities
The CVSA needs YOU! We are in need of volunteers for our Spring soccer season.
Please take a moment to review the volunteer opportunities below and consider donating your time to the association. Our organization cannot run without the help of volunteers like you.
Occurrence: weekly
Why this is important: The concessions stand provides the association with the money needed to pay the referees.
It also is a great spot to grab a hot beverage for a cold parent or pick up a drink for a player if they forgot theirs at home.
What’s involved: Set up the stand, make some small foods (like hot dogs) sell foods such as coffee, water, pop and candy, put away everything at the end of the game day. Monitor inventory.
Field Setup
Contact: Jon Comis at 412-251-3547
Occurrence: once
Why this is important: The fields need to be measured and marked to make sure that we are using the correct size fields for each division. Goals need to be repaired so that they are useful to the players. An inventory of the POD needs to occur so that we know if we need to order any supplies.
What’s involved: Help measure & line fields, repair goals and inventory and organize POD.
Field Maintenance
Contact: Jon Comis at 412-251-3547
Occurrence: weekly
Why this is important: The fields need to be set up each week to ensure the players can see the boundary lines of their fields and so the referees can make appropriate calls.
What’s involved: Help line fields, set out flags and making sure goals are in place for the games.
Occurrence: once
Why this is important: Community Day provides a fun atmosphere for the kids and families in the association to get together and celebrate the end of the season and participate in fun activities.
What’s involved: Plan and execute the event, typically with a group of volunteers.
